Katsumi Horii PROJECT’s first album “HOT IS COOL” released in 1987 is reissued on analog in Clear Blue Vinyl!

Horii Katsumi, a composer, arranger, and professor at Tokyo College of Music, has composed and produced many TV, anime, commercials, movies, and stage productions, including the music for the “Doraemon” movie series (1999 to 2005) and the music for the NHK morning drama series (Asadora), and this is the first album of a fusion project that employs many top-class musicians.

It strongly reflects the atmosphere of the late 1980s, and uses synthesizers and programming rhythms to create a catchy urban fusion. This project was started as a collaboration with popular illustrator Hideto Suzuki. For the reissue, the original master tape was cut based on high-spec sound source data that was digitally converted to 96Khz/24bit, and pressed at Sony Music’s domestic factory, making it a limited edition. Original release: March 21, 1987. 映画『ドラえもん』シリーズ(1999年から2005年)の音楽、NHK連続テレビ小説 (朝ドラ)の音楽など、TV、アニメ、CM、映画、舞台などの作曲、プロデュースを多数手掛けた、作曲家、編曲家、東京音楽大学教授、堀井勝美が、超一流ミュージシャンを多数起用したフュージョン・プロジェクトの1stアルバム。
1980年代後半の雰囲気を色濃く反映し、シンセザイザーやプログラミング・リズムを多用し、キャッチ―なアーバン・フュージョンを展開。人気イラストレーター鈴木英人とのコラボレーションをコンセプトとしてスタートした企画となる。復刻にあたり、オリジナル・マスターテープから、96Khz/24bitにデジタル変換したハイ・スペック音源データをもとにカッティングし、ソニーミュージック国内工場でプレスした完全生産限定盤。オリジナル発売：1987年3月21日。参加ミュージシャン：堀井勝美(key)、難波弘之(key)、鳴瀬喜博(b)、是方博邦(g)、倉田信雄(key)、数原 晋(flh)、土岐英史(sax)、川瀬正人(perc)　etc.。
