Loius Armstrong – Louis and The Good Book

$30.00

180 gram vinyl pressing of this classic album. Includes the bonus track “Dear Old Southland”.

The American jazz composer and trumpeter originally released his album in 1958, via Decca Records. The album included here was among the “pop intended” productions Decca put into the market in the mid- fifties, in an attempt to sell Louis Armstrong to a wider audience. In fact, in addition to being a seminal jazz figure both as a trumpeter and as a vocalist, Louis had always been a true pop artist. Armstrong received numerous accolades including the Grammy Award for Best Male Vocal Performance in 1965, as well as a posthumous win for the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1972, and induction into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2017.
