South Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho pairs Chopin’s second Piano Concerto in F minor with the four Scherzi, complementing his widely acclaimed 2016 album of the First Concerto and Ballades (“effortless clarity and articulation” – Gramophone). The star pianist treats the four Scherzi as a single cycle packed with contrast, and also embraces the contrasts in the concerto, filled – as he puts it – with “passion and drama” and “delicacy and fragility”. Gianandrea Noseda and the LSO join him once again.
