Bill Evans – From Left To Right
$38.30
Bill Evans used electric piano for the first time, making full use of both acoustic and electric music, and introducing an orchestra to create a unique work on white vinyl
In the 1960s jazz pianist Bill Evans occasionally recorded an easy listening orchestral session to – so to speak – pay the bills, with only apparently questionable results. But FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, while certainly easy on the ears, is also one of Evans’ most intriguing “lost” records. What’s new is that Evans plays both Fender Rhodes and acoustic piano simultaneously in real time, exchanging themes and improvisations with deliberate gusto and, of course, rare skill. The sessions were produced by longtime manager Helen Keane
