作品のほとんどが彼女の自宅でレコーティングされたという本作は、日本のオタク・カルチャー、エモ、電子音楽、グランジ、シューゲイズ、ポップパンク、アシッドフォークなど様々なカルチャーやジャンルを咀嚼・昇華し、本人曰く「パスティーシュ・ポップ」として全方位の音楽ファンに刺さるアルバムとなった。その中でもとりわけオルタナ・カントリーとの融合が素晴らしく、鋭角な音楽でありながら丸みを感じることの出来る稀有な作品となっている。日本国内では未だ知られざる存在であるものの、耳の早いリスナー達の間では早くから話題となっており、今後話題となること必至のアーティストだ！

Anita Velveeta はAnita Bauer による宅録プロジェクト。ミネソタ州ミネアポリスの自宅で、 アニタはカントリーからブレイクコア、エモ、シューゲイザーなど、さまざまな種類の音楽を創り出している。自らの音楽を「パスティーシュ・ポップ(寄せ集め・模倣などの意)」と表現するアニタは、自らの音楽を通じて人間の経験のあらゆる領域を捉えようとしている。 2023年は地元ミネアポリスでのショーと数枚のアルバムのレコーディングが中心となるが、2024年はアメリカ・カナダでのツアーを予定しており、今後ワールドワイドでの活躍が期待されている。

This work, most of which was recorded at her home, explores and sublimates various cultures and genres such as Japanese otaku culture, emo, electronic music, grunge, shoegaze, pop punk, and acid folk. The album is said to be “pastiche pop” and will resonate with music fans from all walks of life. Among them, the fusion with alt-country is especially wonderful, making it a rare work that can feel rounded even though it is sharp-edged music. Anita Velveeta is a home recording project by Anita Bauer. From her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anita creates a variety of music, from country to breakcore, emo, shoegaze, and more. Describing her music as “pastiche-pop,” Anita seeks to capture the full range of human experience through her music. In 2023, they will mainly perform shows in their hometown of Minneapolis and record several albums, but in 2024 they are planning a tour in the United States and Canada, and are expected to be active worldwide in the future.
