Bloodthirsty Butchers – Bloodthirsty Butchers Vs +/- {Plus/Minus} (LP)

2004年に、N.Yのバンド、+/ -{PLUS / MINUS}と初ツアーを通じ、親交を深めていった中で、互いの曲をカバーし合う「Respective Cover Album」として、発売された。bloodthirsty butchersは全曲に日本歌詞をつけて、+/ -{PLUS / MINUS}は「ゴキゲンイカガ」 を日本歌詞のまま歌うなど、それぞれのバンドらしさが加わって、新しい楽曲としても聴くことができると同時にそれぞれの原曲の良 さも感じることができる。

まずは、M1「JACK NICOLSON」は、オリジナルの「birdy」と、(同日発売のアナログで)聴き比べて感じて欲しい。 また、△から□へ変化した表れのひとつとして、M6「WAKING UP IS HARD TO DO」は田渕ひさ子がメイン・ヴォーカルをとっているの も必聴。なお、「banging the drum」と制作時期が近いこともあり、こちらの作品でもアートワークに奈良美智氏の数多くの作品の中からbloodthirsty butchersにより選ばれた作品が起用されている。

In 2004, through their first tour with N.Y. band +/ -{PLUS / MINUS}, they deepened their friendship and released a “Respective Cover Album” in which they covered each other’s songs. Bloodthirsty Butchers adds Japanese lyrics to all of their songs, and +/ -{PLUS / MINUS} sings “Gokigagen Ikaga” with Japanese lyrics, so each band’s uniqueness is added, and you can listen to it as a new song at the same time. You can also feel the quality of each original song.

First of all, I would like you to listen to and compare the M1 “JACK NICOLSON” with the original “birdy” (analogue released on the same day). Also, as one of the manifestations of the change from △ to □, you must listen to M6 “WAKING UP IS HARD TO DO” with Hisako Tabuchi taking the main vocal.

Furthermore, as the production date for this work is close to that of “Banging the Drum,” the artwork for this work was selected by Bloodthirsty Butchers from Yoshitomo Nara’s many works.
